All About My Little Maxie Girl
Maxie is a female salt & pepper "mini" (miniature schnauzer). She has a really cute cropped tail and intact, floppy ears. Maxie can bark in such a high pitch that it's down right painful to the ear drums! When she gets really excited her bark sounds like a 'squeak'. She can also jump flat footed over a 3 foot fence. She's a tough little character.
Because she is exercised frequently, she is in marvelous shape and has been blessed with a healthy constitution except for a minor, reacurring ear problem. I've clocked her in one of her sprints at about 25 mph. This dog loves to run! She's very prone to ear infections, for some reason.
Maxie also loves to travel with her 'mommy' and 'daddy' (that's us). :o) She is very, very friendly to strangers and children. She has got the sweetest personality. Since we can hardly stand to be apart, Maxie and I, she is my almost constant companion. She has filled many a lonely hour with love, happiness and total devotion. She's My Little Maxie Girl!
We've dubbed her affectionately with some nicknames:
Stumpy (because of her tail), Squeaky, Angel Puppy (when she's good), Little Bad Dawg (when she's not), and Maxiedammit (she hides at this name)!! (lol) :o))
Maxie's companion, Lady, a Lab/Staffordshire mix, passed on to the Rainbow Bridge 23 Nov 2002. We miss her so much. We now are the proud owners of Lucy ... a Boxer with a wonderful personality. But, I still say that miniature schnauzers, and the people who love them too, are the BEST!!! As of January 3rd, 2006 we are now also the owners of yet another mini, Sam Jr. Sam was my father's dog until he passed away that date.
Thank you for visiting with Maxie. We all hope you enjoyed your visit and you have a wonderful, joyfilled day.

Below are a few photos of My Little Maxie Girl

Here's my little angel puppy at 18 weeks.

6 months old .... isn't she a doll-baby?!
She is the happiest little dog. I swear she smiles.

Maxie waiting to play b-a-l-l
(we call it the Perfect Round Thing). lol
That's the trouble with having a dog so smart!
One must spell some things around them. :o)

A more recent photo of my little angel puppy. Poor kid has cataracts now.
She runs into things a bit and can no longer see very far, but she does pretty good.

My little girl had a brush with death! She had numerous kidney stones that became
lodged in her bladder. They had to be surgically removed. She had two surgeries
in one week. As I 'pen' these words, she is on the road to recovery. This was
definately a rough week for all of us. We're hoping she'll be home soon.
Gosh, we miss little fuzzy britches!!! 8^}
Update: Maxie recovered nicely thanks to our local skilled veterarian, Dr. Flanders, and God's mercy. She is on a special prescription diet and, so far, has no signs of any recurring kidney stones. :o)
